That’s a real bargain on the Riviera. Prices have gone up stateside recently.

It’s not running because one piston has chipped. Head is already off, new gaskets are included. Also, it has stronger valve seats to run on lpg, this was done during a recent complete engine rebuild. If everything is as easy as the owner claims, he would’ve had it done before the sale.

I wouldn’t touch it with a 3m pole.

I suppose it seems like a better deal when one has very cheap small-block (and big-block) engines available all day. An engine that’s eaten itself does complicate things, but the engine in the States, or rebuild parts for it, would be among the less challenging parts of getting that.

The 850 looks interesting at the price.

A rear-engined Fiat that isn’t a 500/600. I wonder what Abarth bolt-ons exist for that.

US engine parts here aren’t that rare. Plus, Amazon + APO boxes, rockauto.com has UK distribution so no VAT/customs in Belgium, etc.

I was mostly going with a summary of the cheap lazy/paranoid option, which is to find a whole junkyard engine and swap, with minor parts to fix *that*, not necessarily the original. Interesting to hear that about RockAuto, though.

I used RockAuto to score myself some parts for my BMW and they do prices in EUR, GBP and USD and shipped from the UK. It was pretty awesome.
